This past week we headed down to Myrtle Beach for a family vacation. Every two years Jon’s family rents a beach house and we all make the 18 hour drive. This year we weren’t too sure if we were going to be able to make the trek with a 7 week old, but we decided to take our chances and we are glad we did. Anna was an absolute trooper on the drive, spending 12 hour days sleeping in her car seat and being forced to eat and play when we stopped. We were able to venture all over Myrtle Beach with her in tow, it was a great week.
Here are some highlights from Anna’s week at the beach.
Heading out on the open road; all strapped in and ready to go!
Trying out a rocking chair at Cracker Barrel while we wait for lunch.
Celebrating Daddy’s Birthday with lunch at Margaritaville.
Trying on our new swim suit bought especially for this trip by Grandma Heibein.
Taking a nap at Build-A-Bear while we wait for our cousins.
Our second swim in the pool. (Mommy took Anna on her first swim therefore couldn’t take photos).
Relaxing before we go shopping.
On our last night at the beach Anna finally got to dip her toes in the Atlantic Ocean.
On the trip home we stopped for a quick snack in Virgina with Pilot Mountain in view.
Finally home! Anna stretching out and relaxing after a long trip.
We had a great week and cannot wait to take Anna back in two years and see her playing in the ocean waves.
